REFLECTIONS ON MY ART WORK
I am not sure if I forget or remember when I am faced with different art materials, such as soft clay, pigments, hard and resistant wood, or metal shaped by
Hephaestus. We both surrender to them, finding balance in strokes and textures, moving away and then closer again.
Our discoveries are covered in palimpsests, like an apprentice's encounters, and the distance between them creates another way of remembering something forgotten. In the act of creating, there is
a sense of childhood and universality, as the light of inspiration strikes.
As I work, I catch glimpses of something that brings us all together, something that transcends words and connects us to the earth and the cosmos.
